About Gonzales Performance

The Story

Before Gonzales Performance, I was a high school athlete trying to maximize my potential while navigating a chronic autoimmune condition.

At 15 years old, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, a condition that drastically affected my ability to perform. I was in and out of hospitals, constantly getting lab work and scans done. At one point, doctors believed the cause was a tumor in my pituitary gland.

Despite playing sports my entire life, I suddenly had to deal with new challenges:

--- Slowed metabolism

--- Constant fatigue

--- Body aches

--- Muscle and Joint stiffness

Things most athletes never have to think about became part of my everyday reality, but I refused to let that define me

Once everything settled, fitness naturally became a massive part of my life. The only way to minimize my condition was through healthier eating habits, structured and progressive strength training, consistency, and constant awareness of how my body feels. My fitness journey continued throughout high school, and was ultimately the reason I decided to pursue personal training. I wanted to empower people by helping them take control of their health and fitness, as i lived through how much positive change it can bring.

So, at 18 years old I started my training business. As my clientele grew, i became very passionate about working with athletes and the science of athletic performance, more specifically speed development. I quickly shifted my business structure towards sports performance with a specialization in speed development.

As a now, 21 year old trainer, I’ve had the opportunity to work with over 600 athletes around the world of all levels, I've helped multiple professional athletes transform their performance, I've created connections with College & Professional Scouts/Coaches around the country, and the most rewarding part is seeing my athletes get real results, move better, gain confidence, develop good habits, improve performance, and create real opportunities for themselves. That’s what drives everything I do.

I’m constantly learning, constantly refining, and constantly pushing to improve the system. My goal is to build the most effective performance development system possible, and raise the standard for athlete development in Reno. Athletes here deserve structure, progression, and real coaching, and that’s exactly what Gonzales Performance is built to provide.
