Why I care

Growing up, training like this wasn’t available in Reno. Athletes were expected to work hard, but very few were properly taught how to become faster, move better, and truly develop their athletic potential.


I witnessed too many athletes, including myself, with talent, a strong work ethic, and never get the right training guidance to succeed. That’s why in 2022 I Built Gonzales Performance.


I wanted to create the system and become the change Reno athletes deserved. I want to pioneer the new beginning of advanced athletic performance training in Reno.


I want to help create real opportunities for athletes with reaching the next level.

Helping athletes chase their dreams, and maximize their potential is not just my job. It's what I was born to do

At Gonzales Performance, we take a speed priority training approach towards athletic development!

That means developing your sprint mechanics, acceleration, maximal velocity, change of direction, power development, movement efficiency, and true game-speed performance.


Every athlete starts with a Performance Evaluation Assessment. During this assessment, we can identify exactly what is limiting performance and place them into the right training structure!


Throughout training, advanced technology is consistently used to monitor athlete data, ensure progression, minimize confusion, and maximize athletic development.

The Gonzales Performance Development System has been carefully and consistently remodeled, updated, and optimized to provide athletes with nothing lower than the highest quality of training. The Gonzales Performance Development System follows the most up to date research and scientific findings, allowing the formula to be constantly growing and evolving.


Performance is not built through inconsistent programming, random drills, inconsistent training structure, generic conditioning, hitting the gym, or simply just working hard. Performance is built through structure, systematic progression, data collection, consistency in training, understanding individual needs, and high level coaching.


That's why my system is designed prioritizing SPEED.

How the system works

Speed changes everything, and faster athletes create more opportunities!

That being said, speed is a science and every athlete has different strengths, weaknesses, limitations, and developmental needs.

Once those needs are identified through our Performance Evaluation Assessment, athletes are prescribed the proper training structure to maximize their long-term development!


During training, athletes develop:

- Sprint mechanics

- Acceleration and maximal velocity

- Power output and force production

- Change of direction capabilities

- Movement efficiency

- Deceleration control

- Overall game-speed performance


Training is structured and consistent, ensuring athletes receive the exact stimulus needed for real development.

Every drill has purpose. Every session has intent. Every athlete is cared about.


As competition season approaches, athletes transition into our Sustain In-Season Program to maintain speed, reduce injury risk, improve recovery, and ensure they stay physically prepared throughout the demands of their season!

Majority of athletes are used to training environments that look productive, but lack real structure, progression, and purpose. The Gonzales Performance Development System is truly built differently.

It is not:

--- Random workouts with no progression (ladder drills, cone drills, conditioning, flashy drills)

--- Generic speed drills without real application and proper coaching

--- Workouts designed to make athletes feel tired/exhausted after

--- One size fits all programming

--- An intense, negative feedback, or loud/aggressive training environment

--- An uncomfortable or judgemental training environment


Working hard is not the same as developing correctly, Fatigue does not create progress, and more training does not always mean better training. Thats why Im NOT here to:

--- Waste athletes time

--- Slow down or minimize progress

--- Force athletes to train if the data, injury restrictions, or numbers suggest overtraining.

--- Give nothing but my 100% effort into every single athlete, within training and outside training.

--- Force athletes into training they aren't comfortable or ready for yet
